JoAnn attended Churchman’s Business School while Jim attended the University of Scranton. She would drive up every weekend to visit Jim. They became engaged in college and married August 18th, 1979. They moved to the King of Prussia area where Jim attended Villanova Law School, while JoAnn worked at AMP, as the Executive Secretary to the Vice President.
After years of fertility treatments, Jo and Jim welcomed a baby girl on May 4th 1994, Jay McKenzie Lynch, named after JoAnn’s initials: JoAnn Yencho. She left work to raise Jay.
JoAnn re-entered the workforce in 2010 and began working at the Prothonotary of the Montgomery County Court House. She eventually became the Executive Assistant to the Prothonotary. She loved working at the Court House. She excelled in her job and was friends with everyone.
JoAnn enjoyed time with her friends and family. She had the biggest smile. She would always be willing to do something funny for a photo or provide a giant hug. Her favorite vacation spot was Martha’s Vineyard, where she would always get a giant plate of nachos in Edgartown. She loved the movie Zoolander and you could always find a Jack Daniel’s Manhattan (straight-up, one cherry) in her hand. She loved and cared for the multiple pets she had over the years, from birds to her dogs Trixie, John Dog, and Bailey.
She was a loyal friend, a beloved daughter, a caring wife, and the best mother. JoAnn will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
Jo was preceded in death by her father and mother Joseph and Theresa Yencho, her aunt Anna Meilinger (Smitty) who was a second mother to her, and her mother-in-law Helen (Zawarski) Lynch. She is survived by her husband and high-school sweetheart Jim Lynch, her daughter Jay Lynch, and father-in-law James Robert Lynch Sr. (Bob Lynch). JoAnn was an only-child but is survived by many loving cousins on her side of the family, as well as, family from Jim’s side.
